50th Anniversary Events and Planning Update
Planning for St. Margaret 50th Anniversary – an update
On March 19, 2022, St. Margaret’s will turn 50 years old, and we are planning a grand anniversary celebration! A small committee has been planning for several weeks, and we want to let you know where we are:
- Les Mutt and Joe Boniol are leading the planning for the St. Margaret’s Golden Gala, a celebration banquet at the LaGrange Pavilion at Magnolia Mound on Nicholson Drive on Saturday, March 19, 2022. As soon as we have worked out all the expenses, we will update everyone on ticket prices and more details.
- Douglas Campbell is putting together a chronological mural representing the history of St. Margaret’s from 1972 to 2022. The mural will include events and remembrances submitted by parishioners. The mural will be constructed on posterboards for display in the parish hall. If you have a photograph, memorabilia or anything that could be included on the mural, please contact Susan Henderson at sghenderson2@gmail.com. All original items will be safeguarded and returned to the owners.
- Bill Bethea will produce a video featuring interviews of parishioners, Mark Lambert is putting together a marketing and communications plan, Debby Boies is overseeing the budget, and Rick Lipscomb is heading an effort to produce a special 50th Anniversary logo and banner for the front of the church.
- Dave Foster and Jo Ann Puls are chairing the committee.
We are still in the planning stages, and we promise to keep you updated as we move into the “action” stage!
