St Margaret's Outreach: Shoe Drive to Save Lives
St. Margaret’s will once again collaborate with the Cortana Kiwanis Club in their “gently used” shoe drive. The shoes are gathered by the Club and are sold to an organization who then turns around and provides them to third-world cobblers who repair and sell at a very reasonable price to those in need. The money Kiwanis Clubs raise goes to the international fund, which provides neonatal tetanus shots to prevent fetal deaths.
Starting next weekend, there will be two collection points here at St. Margaret’s. One will be in the entryway of the church and one will be in the parish hall. We will have about seven weeks to collect as many pairs of gently used shoes that we can. For more information contact Mike Baldwin at 925.212.1815 or Michaelbaldwin@Comcast.net.
