Contemplative Prayer in St. Margaret’s Meditative Garden

Contemplative prayer is prayer in the quiet that opens our minds and hearts to God, who is always right here with us in the present moment. All we have to do is pause, remember and quietly express our intention to be present to God. God does the rest.
In the words of the Psalmist, God invites us to “Be still and know that I am God.” When we sit in silence with an open heart we find God abiding there with us and we simply rest awhile in God’s loving embrace.
The format of our shared prayer will be periods of silence interspersed with some gentle meditative music. We will conclude with a reading from scripture and an opportunity for sharing our thoughts and experiences with one another.
Please note that we will meet inside the parish hall if weather conditions prevent us from gathering in the meditative garden. Whether we meet inside or out we will all wear masks and practice social distancing.
*Please bring your own portable chair and masks must be worn*
