Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Visitors
Lay Eucharist Ministers (LEMs) are licensed by the bishop in order to administer the chalice at Holy Communion in the church’s services. Lay Eucharistic Visitors, also licensed by the bishop, administer the Eucharist, confected at a regular Sunday service, to shut-ins and others who cannot attend the Sunday Mass.
These ministries are vital and important duties in the parish, acting as midwives of Christ in delivering the Blessed Sacrament to the faithful.
Eucharistic Visitors, as much as a sacramental ministry, are a ministry of visitation and presence for those whom they come to. They are also agents of the parish’s love and presence in people’s lives.
